Ever since I got my new laptop with Vista, I've only been able to listen to sound by plugging in headphones or speakers. I've checked and re-checked all th settings, driver updates etc and all the messages say its working fine BUT ITS NOT!

    Any clues greatly apprec'd :)

PS I've been getting the 'a jack has been unplugged' message ever since the word go too.

What type of laptop do you have?

If you just purchased the laptop, I would suggest sending it back to the manufacturer or to the store you purchased it from.

This doesn't sound like a Vista issue but an issue with the actual speakers in the laptop. Considering that both internal speakers aren't working, they are probably defected.

Can you hear any sound without using the headphone jack? Try putting your ear up to the internal speakers to see if you can hear buzzing or other faint sound.
