    Hi everybody,
Recently i have bought Dell Inspiron 1525 laptop with T7250 processor, 160GB HDD, 3GB RAM, OS is Windows Vista Basic home.
It is showing only 2 partitions(drives) C:\ (For OS) and D:\ drive for dell recovery drive.
But in Disk management it is showing four partitions as follows : C (140GB), D(10GB), EISA (78MB), & around 3 GB for DellMedia Direct.

I wish to have one more partition as E:\ drive.
    Is it possible.
    please help me out.

    Thanks & Regards

I'm not sure what EISA stands for, but if I remember from my engineering classes, it stands for Extended Industry Standard Architecture and is completely not related xD.

To answer your question, those other partitions are probably for other functions of the computer.

To create a partition, go to disk management. You can type it in the Start Menu search. You need to resize C. I don't think it's safe to play with the other partitions.

Use EASEUS partition manager for the job if Windows is giving you problems.

    Hi Mr. Administrator,
Actually one of my friend informed me that on one hard disk we can have max. 4 partitions. is it correct.
if yes then how is it possible to make one more partitions. As said earlier i wish to have one more partition for keeping my data separate from system files.

    Thanks

Sorry I completely forgot about that.
To be honest I'm not too clear with the partitions that are set on your computer.

You should contact Dell and ask them which ones you can safely delete. You then, want to create an extended partition, where you will create many different "logical" partitions inside.
