about 3 weeks ago, my comp went for repairs..only recently, while struggling to find solution to restore my snipping tool..i see that the option for tablet pc component is missing from the start menu under programs. i use the snipping tool becasue its a great tool to work with, but after the repairs, the tool has experienced some glitches like not able to save images. what can be done so the next time it happens, i wont have to run around tirelessly trying to find solution. that is why i came here.

Say you have C: then free space then D:
[--C:--][--Free--][--D:--]
You then delete D: (make sure it's empty!!)
[--C:--][--Free----------]
Then create a new D: in the free space.
[--C:--][--D:------------]
All done.

Hi!
Being a total newbie at computers, I am unaware of how to create a partition, so I can keep the OS in C drive and my other programs on separate drives. I have a PC with windows Vista on C drive and a factory backup on D drive.

Shall appreciate any assistance in this regard.

Thank you,

Hi,
I am a newbie in OS so go slowly please :)

Did two factory restore followed by disck cleanup and defrag (perfectdisk) and have been able to go:

FROM
C - 115 Gb

TO
C - 40 Gb
Free space - 35 Gb
D - 40 Gb

I tried to extend the D but it is gray out. What should I do to allocate free space to D partition ??

Went to Vista website and saw that "When you delete a hard disk partition or volume (the terms partition and volume are often used interchangeably), you create empty space that you can use to create new partitions".

Then, can I just delete D ? What will happen if I delete the partition, will it become unallocated or free space ??

Thanks
